The largest DTC blackout blinds brand in the US grew to a $25-30M business almost entirely on organic content: 50 to 60 creators posting every day, pulling in around 10 million views a day. Paid social is the next growth channel, and the plan is to take the business to $100M next year.
Getting there means making paid social as strong as the organic engine, and that starts with creative. The brand needs a strategist who digs deep into the customer, finds untested personas and angles, and turns them into a creative direction that gets sharper every week, with a direct hand in whether the brand reaches $100M.
The brand got its start by noticing one thing: most blackout products aren't actually blackout. Their fix, a custom track-and-frame system that seals the entire window perimeter, turned a product gap into a category leader, built without outside funding.
Working here looks nothing like working at a typical $30M brand. There's no layer of management second-guessing decisions, no month-long feedback cycles. The way the team operates reflects the same straightforward logic:
You run your function end-to-end: Remote-first, fully autonomous, no micromanagement.
Fast and direct communication: Honest feedback, short loops, high pace.
Serious growth targets: $30M to $100M in a year.
This is a fully remote, full-time role.
Full Ownership: Senior Creative Strategist role with real ownership. The testing system is in place; you own the strategy and creative direction that runs on it.
Direct Impact: Your work is the primary unlock for the brand hitting $100M.
Performance Upside: Bonus tied directly to your top-performing creatives.
Growth Path: Fully hands-on to start, with a path to team lead once results are proven and the creative team grows.
Learning Budget: $1,000–$2,000/year for courses, training, and mentorship.
Leadership Access: You report directly to the head of paid growth and work closely with the founder. No middle management, no bureaucracy.
Time Off: 25 days paid vacation per year.
Own the end-to-end creative strategy for Meta, moving the account from repurposed organic content to purpose-built performance creative.
Develop 5–10 new creative concepts per week, including hooks, angles, scripts, and CTAs, with a focus on hitting a 10% monthly hit rate.
Analyze performance data (CPA, ROAS, Hook Rate, Hold Rate) to identify why ads are winning or losing and translate those insights into the next testing batch.
Run several creative directions in parallel, dedicating each one to an in-house editor, with briefs that keep production high-volume and high-quality.
Build on the existing creative testing system, keeping the roadmap and "learnings database" sharp so every test contributes to a documented strategy.
Lead deep customer and competitor research to define the personas, pain points and angles worth testing, starting with audiences the brand hasn't reached yet, such as health-conscious buyers.
Use AI tools (Claude, Midjourney, Runway, etc.) to speed up research and production, while the strategic thinking stays your own.
You have senior, hands-on experience in creative strategy (not just media buying), specifically within the DTC ecommerce space.
You have a proven track record of creating and scaling Meta ads, with the ability to speak to specific spend levels, ROAS, and hit rates.
You are a strategic thinker who can explain the why behind every winner: the persona, the pain point and the angle, not just the spend.
You are data-fluent and comfortable inside Meta Ads Manager, pulling insights beyond surface-level metrics.
You understand direct-response psychology and can apply it on-brand, without gimmicks or exaggerated claims.
You use AI critically: you check and challenge its output, and the thinking stays yours.
You are a clear communicator who can write briefs so precise they require zero follow-up questions from editors.
You learn fast. You actively consume marketing content, newsletters, and communities, and adapt quickly as platforms and tactics change.
You thrive in a scrappy, hands-on environment and prefer executing to managing large, slow-moving teams.
30 Days: Ad account audited, personas and competitor landscape mapped, first 5 creative angles identified. First 10–15 ad batches delivered through the existing testing system.
60 Days: Weekly testing rhythm running at 6+ batches. First-month winners in iteration, new formats in play, long-form copy, statics, AI-assisted content.
90 Days: Creative engine fully operational. Hit rate benchmarks established, a clear path to scaling Meta spend well beyond $600K/month based on creative output.
