This team isn't hiring a Video Editor to make things look nice.

They're hiring someone who knows that the first three seconds can make or break an ad, that the right cut can keep someone watching, and that a "good-looking" video means very little if the numbers don't back it up.

WHO THEY ARE

A UK health and wellness brand, five years in, started when the founder built a product to solve his own problem and it turned into three ranges. Everything is nutritionally formulated and made in the UK, built around one idea: maximise human performance. The team is six people, each one running their own department end to end, with the goal of becoming the UK's leading performance supplement brand.

  • Nobody chases you. You own your area and the results that come out of it

  • Performance is judged on results, not time spent

  • Proactive communication is non-negotiable, especially around deadlines

  • Top performers improve what they are handed instead of just executing it

  • Communication is clear and fast, and good suggestions turn into action.

This is a fully remote, full-time contractor role.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Real creative freedom. The brief is a starting point, not a cage

  • Your own numbers, weekly. Hook rate, hold rate, spend, verdict

  • Direct founder access. No layers between you and the decision maker

  • Investment in your craft. Paid training in direct response creative

WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO

  • Own the edit from concept, script and raw footage through to a first draft that needs one round of revisions at most, never four

  • Ship 8 to 12 finished DR videos a week, each with 3-5 hook variations, so the media buyer always has something new to test

  • Cut visuals that match the avatar they are aimed at, across two product lines and several distinct customer types

  • Build for Meta across UGC-style ads, native-feel ads, VSL-style long-form, statics-in-motion, AI animation and mechanism explainers.

  • Elevate the brief you are given: sharper hook cuts, tighter pacing, smarter b-roll, extra variations nobody asked for

  • Review creative performance in the dashboard, spot what’s working, and use those insights to improve the next round of ads.

  • Become the editing standard this brand hires against as the team grows

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have 2+ years editing paid social direct response ads for DTC or ecommerce brands with real ad spend behind them

  • You understand hook, bridge, body and CTA structure without anyone explaining it to you

  • You know how to edit for retention: pattern interrupts, pacing, captions, native platform feel

  • You are expert level in Premiere Pro or CapCut Pro

  • You have hands-on experience creating AI-generated footage with tools like Higgsfield, and know how to use AI as part of a real ad production workflow

  • You are comfortable working from messy raw UGC footage

  • You talk in hook rates and retention, not just aesthetics, and you can point to ads you cut that scaled

Bonus if you've:

  • Worked on supplements, health or wellness, or another direct response heavy vertical like beauty, fitness or gadgets

  • Got After Effects motion graphics chops

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • First 30 days: Fully onboarded across all three product lines, the avatars and the creative strategy. You have studied past winners and losers with their verdicts, communicate swiftly, stay proactive, and deliver edits on time at near-final first-draft quality.

  • First 60 days: Consistently shipping 10+ videos a week with hook variations, turning around revisions quickly, and keeping most edits within 2 rounds.

  • First 90 days: Your edits scaling profitably, and you proactively proposing creative improvements instead of waiting for briefs.
