TikTok Shop is the fastest growing sales channel in ecommerce right now, and most brands still haven't figured it out. The agencies that have are scaling brands into the millions in GMV, working with some of the biggest names in beauty, and writing the playbook as they go.
This one is profitable, growing fast, and betting that social commerce does to this decade what ecommerce did to the late nineties. This is a seat at that table, with a team of your own to build.
WHO THEY ARE
A TikTok Shop only agency built by operators, not marketers who added a new channel. Just over three years old, based in Midtown Manhattan, and already trusted by some of the largest beauty and personal care brands sold at Sephora and Ulta, alongside a strong roster of Korean beauty names, plus accounts in pets, supplements and home goods. Flat, fast moving and still small enough that your fingerprints end up on everything.
High agency, high ownership: see something broken, fix it, get credit for it
Flat structure with direct access to the co-founders, no layers of management to fight through
Ethics first: recommendations get made because they're right for the client, never because they're easy for the agency
An early-career team that genuinely wants a senior operator to help them grow, not just manage them
Entrepreneurial runway: this company has backed its own employees on new ventures and rewards people who build things
This is a full-time role based in Midtown Manhattan (Monday through Thursday in-office, Fridays remote).
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
Build your own pod. You may inherit one or two people at most, and the mandate is to hire and shape your own team of account managers from the ground up as your portfolio grows.
Real upside on revenue you own. Direct commission on the accounts you manage, plus override on everything your team manages.
Work with brands that matter. Some of the biggest names in beauty and personal care, the kind of portfolio most agencies would kill for.
A genuine path to Director. For the right person, this role can grow well beyond its current scope.
No micromanagement. You'll be trusted to own your domain and given the runway to actually run it.
A company that still needs its first real playbooks. If you like building structure from scratch rather than inheriting someone else's, this is that kind of environment.
WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO
Own a portfolio of major TikTok Shop accounts, carrying quarterly GMV, ROI and margin targets
Lead full funnel strategy across assortment, pricing, promotions, content and creator/affiliate programming
Align shop inventory and catalog with paid media (Spark Ads, Shopping Ads) and interpret the resulting dashboards
Deliver WBRs and QBRs that turn raw performance data into executive level narratives
Hire, manage and mentor a growing pod of account managers and creator managers
Spot and execute upsell and cross sell opportunities, but only the ones that are genuinely right for the client
Build the processes and playbooks that don't exist yet at a fast growing startup
WHO YOU ARE
You have 3+ years in ecommerce marketplaces, digital commerce operations or social commerce, including at least one year directly managing or mentoring a team
You've led an early-career team that needed coaching as much as direction, and you have the patience that takes
You hold people accountable without making it personal: when something is off, you tell them in a way that teaches instead of scolds
You come from agency side ideally, though brand side works if you've owned ecommerce or performance directly
You have a track record of owning and hitting GMV, AOV or margin targets
You're sharp in Excel/Sheets and comfortable building and reading dashboards
You have exceptional client communication, executive storytelling and negotiation skills, and you'll step in to defend your team when a client crosses the line
You're a ruthless prioritizer: you know what has to be done first, what can wait, and what to hand to someone else
You're comfortable operating with little precedent, and low ego about scope, because at a company this size everyone ends up doing things that were never in the job description
You hold yourself and the people around you to a high ethical bar, even when the easy recommendation isn't the right one
Bonus if you've:
Worked hands on in TikTok Shop: Seller Center, creator marketplace, live commerce or shop ads
Worked specifically in beauty or personal care
Built or scaled an affiliate/creator commission program from the ground up
Operated inside a small, flat startup team where you wore more than one hat
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
30 days: You're deep in the platform and the portfolio. You're ramped on Seller Center, you've shadowed a senior account manager through their week, you've sat in on WBRs and QBRs, and you've met every account manager and creator manager on the team.
60 days: You're independently owning your portfolio and have run your first QBR without support. You've flagged at least one process gap and started fixing it, and you've identified a real upsell opportunity on an existing account.
90 days: You've hired or onboarded your first account manager into your pod. You've shipped a repeatable playbook for at least one part of the process, whether that's a live shopping event runbook or an affiliate onboarding flow, and you can point to quarter over quarter GMV or margin improvement on your flagship account.
