Most media buying roles hand you an account, a monthly target and three layers of approval between your insight and the next test going live.
This one hands you the growth engine of a direct-to-consumer footwear brand spending over $1M a month on acquisition, and asks you to make it work harder. You are the accountable owner of Meta: strategy, execution, testing, scaling. Not one buyer of four on a rotation, and not an executor waiting on briefs.
You will sit directly with the founder. The distance between spotting something in the data and having a new test live is measured in hours, not approval cycles.
A fast-growing DTC footwear brand built for people who spend their working lives on their feet: nurses, hospitality staff, tradespeople, anyone whose day is measured in steps rather than hours at a desk. The paid engine is already running at serious scale across three channels, with in-house creative production and analytics in place. Growth has been founder-led to this point, and this hire exists to put a proven senior operator in charge of Meta and lead the next stage of profitable scale.
Direct-response DNA: decisions get made on contribution profit, not platform ROAS screenshots
Creative is treated as the main performance lever, with internal writers, editors and production capacity
Small team, no layers: the founder is in the numbers with you
Bias towards testing and speed over process and reporting theatre
This is a full-time, fully remote role. A practical overlap with the founder's hours (UTC+4) and coverage of key US trading periods is required.
Total ownership of the channel. Meta is yours end to end: strategy, budget, testing, scaling, within agreed acquisition-cost and margin limits. You are the accountable owner, not a contributor.
A direct line to the founder. No account manager, no middle layer. You bring the commercial case, you get a decision the same day.
Creative firepower already in place. In-house creative strategy, video and static production and analytics support. Your insights turn into new ads quickly rather than sitting in a backlog.
Budget that already exists. You are not pitching for spend or waiting for a funding round to land. The money is live, the products sell, and the job is to make the engine more efficient and bigger.
Performance upside. A bonus tied to scaling the account profitably, measured on spend and on hitting targets, so growing it well pays you directly.
A path to broader acquisition leadership. Own Meta, build a repeatable system, then take on wider acquisition scope and team building as your results justify it.
Own Meta strategy, execution, testing and scaling within agreed acquisition-cost, contribution-margin and inventory limits
Run the performance-to-creative feedback loop: diagnose exactly why ads win or lose and turn that into specific, actionable briefs
Write test hypotheses and prioritise new concepts, hooks and iterations with the creative team every week
Build a repeatable testing system: disciplined prospecting and retargeting, scaling winners at meaningful spend rather than chasing isolated high-ROAS results
Compare ad-to-funnel combinations and find the conversion bottlenecks across landing pages, offers and creative
Own tracking QA end to end: pixels, UTMs, naming conventions, attribution windows and conversion lag
Manage spend against contribution profit and fulfilment capacity, escalating clearly when limits start to bite
Take day-to-day buying off the founder's desk entirely
You have personally owned at least $1M+ in monthly Meta spend on a single brand. This is a hard requirement, and more is better.
You have scaled profitably and can walk through a live account explaining which decisions were yours and what they produced
You generate creative insight rather than waiting for briefs: you study ads and customer responses, work out why concepts land, and tell writers and editors specifically what to make next
You are funnel literate: you think in ad-to-landing-page-to-purchase journeys, not just in-platform metrics
You are rigorous about tracking and naming discipline, because you have been burned by messy data before
You read attribution honestly: you understand conversion lag and you do not make calls off a single day's ROAS
You make commercial decisions using new-customer CPA, contribution profit after ads, blended ROAS, AOV and refunds
You learn from failed tests and can explain what each failure taught you and what you did next
You are comfortable in Meta Ads Manager, Triple Whale, Shopify and Sheets or Excel
You are fluent in professional English
Bonus if you've:
Worked in DTC footwear, comfort and wellness, beauty or another direct-response consumer category
Run listicle, advertorial and VSL funnels at scale
Tested comparison, failed-alternative and BOGO offer angles
First 30 days Audit measurement, naming conventions, creative history and funnels. Identify where tracking or attribution is misleading the team. Launch the first set of priority tests based on what the audit exposes.
By 60 days A weekly insight to brief to test cycle is running properly: you are producing clear creative diagnoses, the creative team is building against your briefs, and tests are launching on a predictable rhythm.
By 90 days Repeatable creative winners coming through the system and profitable scaling on Meta, with specific numerical targets agreed after the baseline and capacity review in month one.
